Why You Should Be Using Pinterest For Marketing

Pinterest: we’ve all heard of it. You may browse the site in your free time to find ideas for decorating, food dishes, or anything else. If you would’ve said a few years back that this site and app would grow to become the third largest social media site nowadays, who would’ve believed that? Well, it happened. And that makes Pinterest users a market you don’t want to miss out on.

  • But males users are beginning to sign up and use the site more and more.
  • It is used across the globe. It doesn’t just limit to the United States!

Why Use Pinterest?

According to eMarketer, only Facebook outranks Pinterest in terms of influencing purchasing decisions. Couple that with the above stats, and you’ll know why you need to be using this social media site. When you go on Pinterest, you’re browsing for a specific set of things. Pinterest is great at converting these browsers into buyers. And who doesn’t want that conversion?

Pinteresting Tips

We have a few tips when it comes to pinning on this social media site. Feel free to use these, or do what works for you!

  • Pin consistently. Don’t pin once or twice a week. Instead, try a scheduling tool so you can schedule your pins out over a period of time.
  • Pin from your website. You can install the Pinterest browser button to do this easily, or copy links and create pins yourself. This will ensure if someone sees your pin or clicks on it, they will be directed to your website.
  • Make sure you’re using a business account.
  • Pinterest is highly visual. Make sure the images you’re pinning are visually interesting and appealing.
  • Always have a decent description with your pins so users will know what it’s about! 150-300 words are best.
  • Share your Pinterest account on your other social media accounts.
  • Share ‘Pin It For Later’ links on some of your Facebook posts if it applies.
  • Check out advertising on Pinterest. Just take a look at it! You aren’t obligated to posts ads.

With all social media sites, you have to get a feel for the site and how it works to truly get the most out of it. Consistency is the key. Don’t give up if it becomes frustrating or seems like it isn’t working for you! You can always contact us here at Beverly Cornell Consulting and we’d be happy to take the reigns for you.
